Tim Stammers
Tim Stammers has over 30 years’ experience as an IT industry analyst and journalist covering a wide range of data center infrastructure technologies. He is widely known within the IT industry and has been named as a “Top 100 Power Analyst.” Mr. Stammers has advised financial investors and both the buy and supply sides of the IT industry, counseling buyers about technology and buying strategies, and vendors about product development and marketing plans.
He joins Objective Analysis after ten years leading 451 Research’s analysis of solid-state data storage and memory technology and market developments, as well as that company’s research into data center primary storage, and hyperconverged systems. Previously he covered the same areas at research firm Ovum (now Omdia.) Mr. Stammers’ reports and white papers have been republished by many organizations, including IBM, Hitachi Vantara, NetApp, Pure Storage, Samsung and the Storage Network Industry Association (SNIA.) He has been a regular presenter at IT conferences such as the annual Flash Memory Summit (FMS) and has been quoted by multiple trade and non-technical news outlets.
Mr. Stammers’ insights and ability to understand, identify and clearly communicate the key issues within technology topics are the combined result of his strong technical background and his training as a journalist and industry analyst. In his prior career Mr. Stammers was employed as an IBM mainframe systems programmer at the London Electricity Board, and as a gas turbine development engineer at Rolls-Royce. He holds a master’s degree in Applied Computing from Middlesex University, UK, and a bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University, London.
